Cellist Yeeun Kong graduated with honors from Seoul National University College of Music, where she was also recognized as the top student in cello performance. Prior to her studies at SNU, she attended Yewon School and Seoul Arts High School. She is currently pursuing her Master of Music degree at The Juilliard School under the guidance of Zvi Plesser and Zlatomir Fung.
In Korea, she has won prizes at major competitions including the Music Association of Korea Competition, Eumak Chunchu Competition, Eumak Journal Competition, and the KCO Competition. She has appeared as a soloist with the Seoul National University String Ensemble and the Seoul Academy Ensemble. During her time at SNU, she was selected as a member of Spirit of SNU Strings and performed at the IBK Chamber Hall of the Seoul Arts Center.
An avid chamber musician, she has a particular passion for collaborative performance and is currently active as the cellist of Trio Daon. Most recently, she participated as a full-scholarship fellow at the Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival in the United States, where she further developed her artistic voice in an intensive chamber music setting.
